The Beginning (2019)

When I first arrived in Korea as a tourist in 2019, I was completely overwhelmed. The Korean language felt impossible. The subway system looked like a maze. Restaurant menus were indecipherable. I made countless mistakes—from accidentally ordering the wrong food to getting lost on the subway multiple times.

But I was determined to understand this country.

The Turning Point (2020-2026)

Over the past 5+ years, I’ve lived in Seoul, Busan, and Daejeon. I’ve worked with local communities, studied the Korean language intensively, and navigated every aspect of Korean life—from banking to healthcare to transportation. I’ve made friends with locals, eaten at hundreds of restaurants, and learned the unwritten rules of Korean culture.
